This song was almost done. But there was one line that was bugging me: "The sky is bluer than a blue jay's soul." What does that even mean? I'll change that eventually, I thought. Later I test drove it on a gig, and said as much to the audience. Afterward, my friend said to me, "Don't change that line, it's great. It doesn't have to make sense—it's a song." I kept it in and I've loved it ever since.
